Friday: Movie Night

Looking for something to do tonight? Watch a special screening of the Japanese award-winning World War II film “Dr. Akagi.” The showing starts at 6:30pm at the Mechanics’ Institute Library in San Francisco.

Saturday: Art and Anime

Are you an aspiring artist? Meet local Bay Area artists at the BAAU meetup in San Francisco Japantown this Saturday at noon. If you’re just looking for some good anime to watch, check out the Beefbowl Anime Club showing at the Albany Library, which also starts at noon.

Sunday: Hula Girls

Stay in on Sunday night for the conclusion of TTV’s broadcast of Hula Girls on KTSF channel 26 at 8:30pm. You’ll have the chance to win a copy of the movie soundtrack signed by composer Jake Shimabukuro.

Monday: More Anime and Halloween Cosplay

Start off Halloween week with more anime and some early cosplay at the CAA anime showing at UC Berkeley on Monday. Show up in costume to participate in the CAA Halloween cosplay contest and compete for prizes! No membership is required to attend or compete, but don’t forget to follow the rules!
