BayAnime.com - San Francisco Bay Area community for fans of anime, manga, and Japanese pop culture

October 2, 2008

Celebrate the end of summer by attending a Japanese fall festival!

Highlights of this weekend include the Aki Matsuri in San Francisco Japantown on Saturday and Sunday, and the Spirit of Japantown festival in San Jose on Saturday.

Looking for something to do tonight?

UC Berkeley’s anime club, Cal Animage Alpha, will be having their weekly manga social tonight at 5:30pm immediately followed by gaming at 7:30pm.

Those of you in the San Jose area can check out Tsunami’s anime showing at SJSU, which runs from 7-10pm tonight.

Japanese, art, noodles, and silicon tomorrow!

Sci-fi, fantasy, anime, gaming, and more starting tomorrow at SiliCon, which runs through Sunday at the Doubletree Hotel San Jose.

Or join the San Francisco Japanese Language and Culture Group Meetup at Macha Cafe, followed by a special Japanese Art Exhibit and Performance at Space Gallery.

Love noodles? You’ll definitely be interested in Juzo Itami’s classic film Tampopo, screening tomorrow night at the Mechanics’ Institute Library in SF.

More anime showings!

Too much anime? Never! Check out the Foothill Anime showing at noon this Sunday, or start your Monday off with another anime showing courtesy of UC Berkeley’s Cal Animage.
