Well, I feel a little bad making a suggestion since I keeping missing the meetups. But how about seeing the Lords of the Samurai exhibit at the Asian Art Museum?

i have to say, i am curious to check out the samurai exhibit. i see the posters and ads for it everywhere in the city.
i'm not sure what other types of get-togethers we can do. not sure if everyone wants to meet up and watch anime or shows and such.. it's always tough to find shows that everybody will enjoy. me, i prefer to just get together and socialize. dinner, sake, and karaoke come to mind again. that night was extremely fun!

Hmm, as far as the samurai exhibit goes here's what's coming up:
AsiaAlive: Modern Samurais—Natsusaka Shin-ichiro demo
Thursday through Sunday, September 3 through 6,
12:00 noon – 4:00 pm, North CourtFREE with general admission
Japanese artist Natsusaka demonstrates and presents his original narrative sculpture work “A Carved Strip,” inspired by traditional samurai stories. Natsusaka mixes contemporary art, storytelling, kitsch images and text to create this crossover art form.
I'm personally not that interested in checking it out, but if anyone wants to gather for a meetup there, then I'm definitely down for the dinner/afterparty!
I also may or may not check out Spirit of Japantown next month but that would be in San Jose, so probably not a real "BayAnime" meetup since most of us are in the SF area. (Anyone going?) Actually AnimeFX is starting up again so I was thinking that maybe we could join them for some anime and dinner one of these days.

It would be really great if we got some bayanime people coming over to AnimeFX. If everything goes right our first meeting will be on 9/11 however due to the emotional importance that date carries we won't be having a real open house meeting until a week after.

9/11 is when Majesty 2 comes out! :P

I'll be at the spirit of japantown festival with some friends. We're watching White on Rice afterwards, as well :D

I don't know what spirit of japantown is but it sounds interesting.

Well, I'm not the best person to suggest because I'm new here and I know nothing, but this Saturday (10/03) I'm going to know Japantown and who want to go, is welcome.

Halloween houses Yaoi con in SF. However every year there's a cosplay gathering at the Winchester Mansion in San Jose. Now the usual organizer (Eurobeat King) will be going to Yaoi Con instead to take pictures and cover other con events so the turnout will not be as big as previous years.

i know a few of us in BAAU (Bay Area Artists Unite), of which i am also a member, are going to be in attendance. i'm not sure how big it's going to be, but hey, i'm sure we will have a grand ole time!
