  2. Hey bleached! Thanks for joining us! Where in the Bay Area are you from?

Ha, I remember watching all the 80's anime you named. Robotech was my favorite... except for the 2nd generation. Also Minmay and Annie were super annoying!

Yeah I am pretty excited about the New People grand opening! Can't wait to check out the new building and movie theater!!

I'm relatively new to this site too, but welcome.

I enjoyed Robotech and Voltron (the lion one) in the 80's too. I remember rushing home after school to get home in time to watch it... Then I started rewatching Robotech back when it first came out on DVD... and I was embarrassed, angry, ashamed, thinking WTF, and stopped the disc *sigh*. It was WAY better in my memories, haha. But I still like parts of it.

I randomly found this site while just googling to see what kind of anime groups are in the bay area. I use to go to the free anime club screenings at UC Berkeley, but was never an official member of any group. I'm glad to see that this site has postings for free screenings like that.

Actually had that same experience a couples years ago when I rented the DVDs from Netflix. It was shockingly way cheesier than I remembered and I could only get through a few episodes before I decided I was better off not rewatching.

i'm from oakland by way of deutschland...

and yes Robotech wuzz way cheesy, but that wuzz like mid '80s & plus i wuzz like 6 or 7 yrs old...in the good 'ol days of Raegenomics, D.A.R.E & the all-american after-school special programming...so give the united earth forces a break...

hands down still one of the best openings ever...

Toby McGuire's film company have gained the exclusive rights to do a Robotech live action movie....rumor has it that Toby himself will be playing OG Rick Hunter

...Toby with jet black hair & flowing sideburns, hmmmmm?...LoL

i'm hella disappointed with these movie 'adaptations' expect most of the Marvel movies & Batman...still scared see Watchmen

since i'm a fan of Robotech I got my fingers crossed...if Carl Macek gets involved with the project i'm totally on board...

however...if the mechs look anything like the CG scrap metal passing 4 transformers...i'm done
