CAUTION: SPOILERS AHOY
Anyone watching the new Haruhi? The Endless Eight thing is very strange...I don't like it but at the same time I'm kind of awed by it. I feel like it's very meta - each episode I hope it ends, but I know that I'm helpless to stop it, which makes me relate to Kyon in a strange way. Any other thoughts?
Yeah I started watching it a while ago. Got to episode 4 and quit for a bit. I mean dude, they are taking repetitive anime to a whole new (and absolutely annoying) level! I'm sure the makers were trying to do something (somewhat) novel as in the first series where they broadcast it out of order, but seriously, after 3 eps of almost the exact same thing with very little variation I am kind of starting to get pissed off...
Hope they get on with it soon.

The repetition is getting to me too. And at first I tried to focus on the variations between the cycles... but that didn't seem to lead anywhere. So now I'm wondering if there might be clues of things to come in some of the things that happen exactly the same way every time. For example, she always introduces the 2 guys as her subordinates at the pool (maybe she wants that to change?), she randomly offers Kyon and only Kyon a meatball thing (I don't know what its called) at the festival (special treatment?). And he always wastes the last day of summer (seems like a good time to ask her for help with his homework, or do something else with just the 2 of them... anyway, that last day seems very significant).
I don't know... just trying to entertain myself while waiting for this infinite loop to end >.< I hope Nagato stops just observing and helps Kyon at the start of a cycle; it seems like their only chance.

Expect 8 episodes of this thing given the title.
I can't stand it. It would have been far more successful if they had just spent an episode fully exploring each of their summer activities. A pool episode, a part time job episode, etc etc. This....this is just stupid. They don't change ANYTHING except for the clothes.

Fast forward is my friend and it could be yours too. Imagine watching these in non-chronological order (I guess technically we are? But you know what I mean.)

I've been watching them up to the current episode due to massive boredom. I feel bad for all the Haruhi fans who were ecstatic to hear about a new season and get this crap. The sad part is that most fans will totally eat this up thinking it's a unique revolutionary idea, they will buy the DVD's when they come out. This will just give more reason for KyoAni or whoever produces this show to churn out more bullshit.
FINALLY something has happened!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sort of anticlimactic, but at least it's over...
