  2. My favorite anime will always be, Genshiken. Unless another series comes out some day that completely captures the atmosphere of what it's like to run a club full of otakus.

  3. Early AIC OAVS such as "Ah My Goddess", "Tenchi Muyo" and "Vampire Princess Miyu".

  4. Ranma 1/2. If I hadn't seen an episode of this early fansub at San Diego, No-Name Anime, and possibly as a consequence, Fanime Con, would never have been started.

Bakuen Campus Guardress - or Combustible Campus Guardress, will always have a special spot for me, since No-Name was the group that inadvertently gave it this name, and surprisingly, it's stuck.

Boku no Chikkyu wo Mamotte (Please Save My Earth ). Even though they ran out of budget and couldn't finish the story from the manga, this was still one of the best shows ever.

Mahou Tsukaitai (Magic Users Club). For sheer wackiness, but in a nice, light-hearted way, you can't beat this.

Read Or Die. If Robert hadn't spotted the ad and said, "Hey, this looks good", we might not have discovered this OAV until after everyone did.

To Loveru. On the surface, it seems like Urusei Yatsura + Dexter's Lab, but what I love about the show is that the characters are more than two-dimensional, so there's really also a dash of Maison Ikkoku.

Fushigi Na Koala Blinky - Did anyone else watch this on Nick Jr. under the name "Noozles"? Life-changing.

Evangelion - What can I say, Mother Duck Syndrome here (although I'd seen anime before, this was the first one I knew was anime)

Slayers Try - For some reason I like this season of Slayers best. But all of them are just good old fun with the right sprinkling of flat chest jokes and explosions.

One Piece - It's freaking epic. The only thing I look forward to every week. Oda is a genius. If you're not reading/watching this I feel bad for you, son, I got 99 problems but boring anime ain't one.

Fullmetal Alchemist - Loved the first series. Loving the manga more. Want to marry the new series because it's following the manga.

Busou Renkin - It was a pretty solid story for a fighting anime that didn't end flat like most of them do. It reached its conclusion in a way where the excitement built up to a crescendo and didn't disappoint.

Sousei No Aquarion - A fun mecha Eva-clone type anime that didn't overreach in its story. The basic plot points were worn on its sleeve since episode 1, but the journey to the last episode was fun the whole way.

Scryed - Punching things is awesome. Except my face. And I want Alter powers.

Getbackers - My favorite fighting manga, it's just so barely ludicrous that you'd almost think their powers are somewhat reasonable. Surprisingly deep and I'm sad it ended where it did. Eagerly awaiting the rest of the manga's translation....

X (the movie) - I think a lot of people despise this but it left quite an impression on me. The execution itself was a little stilted and rushed, but the basic themes of man vs. nature and free will vs. fate are ones that touch us all. But I did not like one bit the direction they took the series.
