Anime FX OVA Meeting: J-Town Outing

Who's up for having an off campus meetup on 12/18? My finals are done and many people have said they'd like to do something that day so why not. I'll put more details here if there's interest in the idea.

Meeting Place: SFSU Bus Stop (where the shuttle picks up people), If it rains then we'll meet inside the Chavez Center in the area with all the chairs (near the cafeteria)
Time: 3PM
Travel Route: Take the 28/38 to J-Town from SFSU

We'll be catching the 29 over to J-town and if weather permits walk to the Civic BART station on our way home. Maybe grab a bite to eat on the way.

For those of you who can't make the 3PM time slot I'll be putting up my cellphone number here. Just simply call me on Friday and I'll tell you where we are so we can meet up.

I'm free that day, but my funds are really low. What kind of outing did you have in mind?

Nothing big at all, moreso just general hanging out and shooting the breeze. Gives us a chance to meet OFF campus and such. Really its moreso a chance for those of us who couldn't make it to Bart Boy's gathering this week to do so on that day.

It sounds like a cool idea, but I'm also low on funds, and parking can be pricey. Maybe we can work out a carpool plan and each pool in money for parking, or have someone pick up people at the Bart at the Civic Center (it's a bit of a walk I'm told from there to J Town).

Whether I can make it out then or not depends on how far I get in the two giant final papers I have to have finished by the 21st. I'll have a better idea of if I can spare the time or not in a few days.

Transportation I'm seriously thinking about just using the classic BART/Bus combo getting there. For some strange reason I know how to walk to BART from J-town to Civic Center but getting there is a different story. The walk to BART is pretty easy. Most likely we'd meet up at Embarcadero.

Not to mention, the last time we walked from the Civic Center to J-town during the Cherry Blossom thing w/ then-President Sakura, we almost lost Clarence. Granted, that was because there was a crowd on either side of the street. Anyway, I'm up for it.

I have like, one exam that day. But I also have one on Monday, yuck. XP

Damn the lot of you with finals that will not require the whole of the week and the weekend to write such that I'll get good grades in the classes they are for! Damn the finals and damn the lot of you!!!

It just hit me that maybe I should plan a better meeting place. It is completely possible to take the 28 toward Geary than transfer to the 38 to J-town but I haven't done that route myself, I know it's cheaper for sure, would that be a better plan for everyone?

I'll probably meet up with you guys later, since I'm coming from Emeryville.
I don't know whether to just drive or to take BART.

If anything, I'll just call one of you when I arrive.

Also, MUNI to Powell st. -> 38 Bus from Geary is the route I usually took before. $3 total, I think.

28 -> 38 is pretty easy to do. I've done it. That's if you're coming from SFSU or something, though.
For me, I come from Across the Bay, and it's easiest to ride to Powell, walk about three blocks, and hit up the 38.

Ok I changed the meeting place and an alternate location if it rains. Also I put my phone number. Please I ask you, if you know any FX members interested just let them know about Friday as we all know not everyone uses the forums.

Should work out, I think. I'll probably be getting on the BART on the way home to Daly City if we're going to make the Civic Center the ending destination.

Well you don't have to head home from Civic Center if you don't want to. I was just stating the path I'm intending to take and welcoming people to come with me so those who need to take public transportation and want to save a bit of cash can have someone accompanying them. Strength in numbers so to speak.
