It's sad....神谷明 (Kamiya, Akira) who plays　毛利小五郎 (Mouri, Kogorou) was "forced to resign" after 13 years.

Nothing's been officially announced/given as to why.

He did write something about it in his blog about "losing faith" and "contract dispute" and was "forced to resign" but the next day, that entry was deleted.

Man, he's done so many episodes, movies, OVA's and specials, etc.
13 years...damn....

The new guy (小山力也 [Koyama, Rikiya] who also does ヤマト [Yamato] on NARUTO) isn't that bad as a VA but it's just not the same.

WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!? NO, NOO! Detective Conan is easily one of my top favorite anime's of all time, and Kogorou is one of my favorite characters!! WHY!? WHY!?

yea, It's up there though I can't say it's the best anime...just one of my favorites.
It has been getting repetitive but hey...after 13 years...it would be.

神谷明 has got to be one of my fav male VAs.
He's been doing VA for almost 30 years, 13 of which were for Conan.

Sadly, I don't think the true reasons will ever be known due to contract/NDA restrictions.
