BayAnime.com was founded on July 27, 2008 by Ann Oyama (Bay Area based web developer, musician, and anime fan) and Beardog (her imaginary pet mascot beardog). We are an unregistered nonprofit group comprised entirely of volunteer staff. Our ongoing mission is to promote anime, manga, and Japanese pop culture in the Bay Area and its surrounding cities. We strive to bring together and facilitate collaboration between like-minded local groups, businesses, and individuals, primarily through our provision and maintenance of a freely accessible and up-to-date online resource and community forum.

We hope that our site will be useful to both local and visiting fans alike!
